enjoying the hotel’s contemporary design and electrifying vibe
PHILADELPHIA, PA – August 30, 2016 – The Logan Philadelphia’s Hotel, the newest member of Philadelphia’s growing hospitality scene announces the launch of a new engagement program that inspires guests and locals alike to truly experience “Living the Logan”. The program is designed to amplify the hotel’s identity as Philadelphia’s social hub and encourage all to experience its cosmopolitan culture and artistic sensibility.
“We pride ourselves in being truly immersed in the City of Philadelphia; everything from our design, curated local art collection and sensibility is rooted in the city’s dynamic history, showcasing thought provoking elements throughout our private and common spaces,” states Sandy Heydt, Director of Sales and Marketing for The Logan. “The ‘Living the Logan’ series is our way of engaging with the local community to enrich their experience in Philadelphia and further their relationship with us as a member of the city’s flourishing landscape.”
Cultivating and sustaining relationships within a property’s locale is key for a hospitality destination, driving expanded revenue opportunities as well as tapping into the locals who are largely a resource for leisure travelers when making vacation plans. As echoed in a recent Wall Street Journal article, hotels are strategically enticing neighborhood residents with hotel perks, such as special events and fitness classes, to initiate a familiarity with the property, without them having to book a room and check-in.
“Living the Logan” events include outdoor yoga classes, events with your pup, local artist and art student installations, and a DIY terrarium building workshop. The calendar of upcoming events for this Fall includes:
o September 3 – December 31: The Logan Yoga program, offering outdoor yoga classes in the Courtyard to guests and locals alike every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday taught by instructors at CoreFitness. Yoga will move indoors once the weather gets colder. The class is $15.
o September 12: Paws & Spa - In partnership with Bow Wow & Meows, Muttropolitan and Morris Animal Refuge, The Spa at The Logan welcomes guests to spend the evening pampering with their pups. The Spa will be offering complimentary chair massages for humans, free teeth and ear cleaning for dogs, raffle gift baskets and the opportunity to adopt a dog from Morris Animal Refugee, the oldest animal rescue in the country. This event is free for all and takes place from 5pm-8pm in the Courtyard.
o October 13: Octoberfest’s “Craft & Craft” - Arts and crafts meets craft beer at this hands-on workshop led by crafter Regina Latella. Guests will have the chance to create their own handmade cards and envelopes using vintage wallpaper, alongside a full craft beer and cocktail menu available for purchase. Tickets will be available for purchase. This event takes place from 5pm-8pm.
· October through December
o The Artists in Residence Program compliments the thoughtful integration of The Logan’s own locally curated art collection. The Logan will be installing a rotating art gallery that features local university artists and established working artists. Each gallery will exhibit for three-months, kicked off by an opening launch party, free to all attendees. Moore College of Art is proud to be the first arts educational institution to be featured, from October through December, 2016.
o November date TBD: Terrarium Building with PHS: The Philadelphia Horticulture Society will infuse creativity with nature by leading a class on urban gardening! Each guest will learn the basics of farming in the city while constructing take-home terrariums with the help of PHS’ John Doe. Tickets are $15 and support the cost of the materials. PHS is dedicated to the beautification of Philadelphia’s public spaces across the region.
o Introduction to Mindfulness & Stress Management will be led by a mindfulness educator from CoreFitness. Mindfulness is the psychological process of bringing one's attention to the internal and external experiences occurring in the present moment, which can be developed through the practice of meditation and other training. This event is free for all. Date TBD.
