ART COLLECTION TAKES CENTER STAGE ON  THE LOGAN, PHILADELPHIA’S HOTEL’S NEW MOBILE APP
Smart-phone app features a self-guided tour to the hotel’s original local art collection
 
PHILADELPHIA, PA - October 25, 2016 - The Logan has announced the launch of a branded smartphone application available for Apple and Android users that will serve as a portal to unlocking the cosmopolitan adventures that await guests, including their expansive curated art collection. 
The Logan, Philadelphia’s newest hospitality destination, opened in late 2015 and has quickly become a social magnet, infused with a confident, contemporary and artistic point of view. The cultural sensibility is spread through every inch of the 391 room hotel. For tech-loving travelers, this new app allows guests to experience the hotel’s exclusive local art collection like never before. 
“The response to our original art collection has been extraordinary to say the least. Our investment in sharing the history of Philadelphia through the eyes of local artists has been so well received that we knew a mobile tour app was the natural next step in bringing the experience to life,” stated General Manager Greg Stafford. “Our works of art speak to the personality of our hotel, and along with this app, further our position as a vibrant social space and a member of the world-class cultural district in which we reside.” 
Upon downloading the app, users are guided to view maps of key art pieces throughout the hotel, with options to click each piece and learn more about the artist, and the artwork itself. Each piece tells a different story of Philadelphia’s history, from the roots in manufacturing; to famed Philadelphian’s such as Grace Kelly, Walt Whitman and Joe Frazier; to some of the city’s historic moments such as the Pennsylvania Coat of Arms, the Philadelphia Mint, Boathouse Row and much more. 
Developed by Acoustiguide Interactive, the art tour can be viewed in salon, list and map layouts, each of which outline the works throughout the lobby, lower level, second floor, and guest rooms. Works of art included on the app include the Philadelphia Elite Silhouettes, Hombre de Hierro, The Golden Gun, $100 Quilt, Join or Die, Crest, Crew, Philadelphia Textile, The Bust Series, and The Grace Series. 
 

The app requires iOS 6.0 or later and android 2.3 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch and most android devices; rated E for everyone.
